Enrichment and G&T

Courses for Gifted & Talented Students

Kilve Court and Charterhouse organise courses of 2-4 nights for Gifted and Talented students in most subject areas. Learners are welcome to join these programmes from Year 5 onwards. Programmes are tailored to curriculum areas and specific for the age group, taking learners on a journey to deeper understanding and cognition.

These courses are advertised to Schools and Colleges and are aimed at learners who are in the top 5 -10% of the ability range. Parents are asked by their school if they wish to have their children nominated and, for those who agree, the school makes an application to Kilve Court.

Enrichment Courses for Able Students

Aimed at children who are potentially high achievers we offer course held at weekends and during school holidays.

These courses enrich children’s learning and broaden their experiences of the world. They are designed for those who have enquiring minds, thrive on learning, enjoy creativity and who welcome academic rigor and challenge.

Courses seek to go beyond the confines of the National Curriculum encouraging further growth in confidence and self.

Through mental stimulation and thought young people develop problem-solving and thinking skills, raise aspirations and foster enthusiasm for future learning.

As a parent/guardian all we ask is that you gain the approval of a teacher in your child’s school in order for their application to be considered.

Somerset Outdoor and Residential Learning Service has access to the Marjorie Hickling Bursary, founded in the 1980′s, the fund seeks to subsidise learners who otherwise would not be able to attend such courses. For details of how to apply for funding please contact us.
